Celebrating Black History Month
"Believe, Achieve, Succeed" was the theme of this year's Black History Program held on February 20, 2009. Words of inspiration were offered by Elder Lamar King, Sr. Guest speaker was Mrs. Hazel Fournier, retired Mobile County School Board Commissioner. Fourth and fifth graders performed cheers based on the program's theme and third graders performed "Nathaniel's Rap." Musical guest was Bishop State Community College's Gospel Choir. The program concluded with a powerpoint presentation, "Faces: A Celebration of Color" written by Mrs. Hopkins. The outstanding program was coordinated and narrated by Mrs. Sharron Hopkins, third grade teacher.
